Tex & Shirley's has been serving Greensboro since 1972. What started as a simple idea — real food, made from scratch, served with a smile — turned into a neighborhood tradition that's now lasted more than fifty years.

Our family took over the diner in 1984, and we've been running it ever since.

Over the years, our location has changed a couple of times: once when our original shopping center was redeveloped, and again during COVID. But through every move, the things that matter never changed — our buttermilk pancakes are still made from scratch using the same original recipe, our orange juice is still fresh-squeezed every morning, and our coffee is still made just the way you like it.

Today you'll find us at 1617 W. Friendly Ave, right between the Sunset Hills neighborhood and the UNCG campus, where we've been for more than four years.

We're proud to have been featured in Our State Magazine and O.Henry Magazine over the years, but we're most proud of the regulars who've been coming back for decades — and the new faces we get to meet every single day.
